The optics for California Democrats—particularly far-left Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and Governor Gavin Newsom—have turned negative. Their characterization of the riots as “mostly peaceful” is increasingly being contradicted by viral X footage of looting, vehicle fires, and street-level chaos. Public sentiment appears to be shifting, with growing scrutiny on the role of well-funded far-left NGOs allegedly involved in organizing the unrest.
On Tuesday night, Mayor Bass was forced to impose a curfew on downtown Los Angeles—a move that stands in stark contrast to earlier claims from California Democrats that the protests were “mostly peaceful.” …
On Wednesday morning, Attorney General Pam Bondi addressed reporters in the White House driveway about the Trump administration’s decision to deploy Marines and National Guard troops to stop the social unrest sparked by far-left NGOs. …
“We’ve all seen the news—drugstores being robbed, looted, even the Apple Store just got hit. We’re watching this unfold live,” Bondi said, adding, “And to me, this isn’t just looting—we’re applying the Hobbs Act. We’re treating it as robbery to protect Californians. If you loot a store, we’re charging you with robbery under the Hobbs Act. That carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison,” she said. …
LA mayor Karen Bass announced that a curfew will be put into effect for one square mile of downtown Los Angeles following four nights of violent, chaotic protests and looting, during which the LAPD arrested more than 150 people.

The “No Kings” protest against President Donald Trump and his administration is set to be the largest nationwide mobilization since Trump took office, according to organizers.
There are 1,800 protests planned across the country for June 14, with millions expected to attend.
The protests have been organized to coincide with Trump’s birthday and the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army, which the administration plans to commemorate with a tank parade through Washington, D.C. …
According to organizers, the No Kings protests are being held to stand up against “authoritarianism, billionaire-first politics, and the militarization of our democracy.” … the … nonprofit Indivisible said “a coalition of pro-democracy partner organizations” was behind the “NO KINGS Nationwide Day of Defiance on Flag Day.” The partner organizations include 50501 (50 protests, 50 states, one movement) and other organizations behind previous mobilization efforts. …
Recently, Trump sent 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to Los Angeles in response to protests that began on June 6 following a series of Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids. In general, the mainstream media has tended to be on the side of the protesters. Notice how a local ABC correspondent described the destruction of automobiles by protesters/rioters in Southern California this week:
A Los Angeles news anchor sparked outrage for calling rioters “a bunch of people having fun watching cars burn” — while blaming law enforcement for wanting to stop the carnage.
Jory Rand of ABC 7 dramatically underplayed the violence even as his broadcast showed shocking images of cars completely ablaze in smoke-covered streets.
Noting there was “a large group of people” running wild, Rand said it “could turn very volatile if you move law enforcement in there the wrong way and turn what is just a bunch of people having fun watching cars burn into a massive confrontation and altercation between officers and demonstrators.”

People should not light cars on fire nor be entertained by such.

An estimated 9,000 protesters gathered for a rally and march that started at San Francisco’s 24th & Mission BART Plaza around 6 p.m. to protest the recent raids carried out by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement across California. Tracks like YG’s “FDT” and Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright” rang out on Mission Street, along with chants like “Move ICE, get out the way!” echoing through the crowd in a nod to Ludacris. Protesters rolled through on scooters and skates, some draped in keffiyehs, others wearing face masks and clothing scrawled with anti-fascist messages. Many were waving upside down American flags and cardboard posters bearing anti-ICE slogans, lambasting the agency’s actions as unlawful and illegal.
Just like we saw in Los Angeles, the mainstream media tried to convince us that these protesters were “peaceful”, but by the end of the night crimes were being committed and at least 60 protesters were arrested…
Thousands reportedly marched through San Francisco on Monday, the second day of anti-ICE protests there, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. The San Francisco Police Department stated on X that the demonstration was “overwhelmingly peaceful,” but added that two small groups “broke off and committed vandalism and other acts” at the end of the night. The department said it made an unspecified number of arrests.
At least 60 people were arrested at a march in San Francisco on Sunday for failing to respond to a dispersal order, NBC Bay Area reported.
Then on Tuesday, we started to see large protests erupt in major cities all over the nation…

Without a doubt, the rioting and looting in Los Angeles is making the left look bad.
If Democrats actually believe that the chaos that they are causing is going to help them in the mid-term elections, they are nuts.

Now regarding riots and protests, notice something from the old Radio Church of God written by the late Garner Ted Armstrong about 60 years ago:
“POLICE BRUTALITY!” “Poverty!” “Unequal opportunity!” “Illiteracy!” “Poor housing!” “Police Chief Parkerl” These are hurled back and forth as causes of the race riots in Los Angeles. …

May they lead to more protests, more police intervention, and more violence?
We will see.
What has been happening and is scheduled to happen is not unexpected. In my book, Unintended Consequences and Donald Trump’s Presidency: Is Donald Trump Fulfilling Biblical, Islamic, Greco-Roman Catholic, Buddhist, and other America-Related Prophecies?, I have the following:
Expect more protests against Donald Trump. (p. 15)
As the 47th President, Donald Trump plans to deport all those not legally in the USA, though many do not think he can actually succeed in that (Rahman K. Donald Trump’s Deportation Plan Faces Rebellion from Democratic Governors. Newsweek, November 7, 2024). Trying that is expected to cause civil unrest and probably riots. (p. 20)
There are issues with what Donald Trump says when he speaks. I expect protests. (p. 44)
Donald Trump has been a polarizing figure and has offended many including minorities, migrants, and Muslims. Expect civil unrest and rioting. (p. 89)
Donald Trump is setting the USA up for punishment (Isaiah 30:12-13; Romans 1:18-32) that has and will include troubles, violence, (pp. 89-90)
Notice a generational warning from two books of the Bible:
11 There is a generation that curses its father,
And does not bless its mother.
12 There is a generation that is pure in its own eyes,
Yet is not washed from its filthiness.
13 There is a generation — oh, how lofty are their eyes!
And their eyelids are lifted up.
14 There is a generation whose teeth are like swords,
And whose fangs are like knives, (Proverbs 30:11-14)5 “They have corrupted themselves;
They are … A perverse and crooked generation. (Deuteronomy 32:5)
Yes, we a seeing a generation like that.
Of course, it is not just some associated with the protests.
Notice that God inspired Isaiah to write:
8 Now go, write it before them on a tablet,
And note it on a scroll,
That it may be for time to come,
Forever and ever:
9 That this is a rebellious people,
Lying children,
Children who will not hear the law of the Lord;
10 Who say to the seers, “Do not see,”
And to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us right things;
Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits.
11 Get out of the way,
Turn aside from the path,
Cause the Holy One of Israel
To cease from before us.”12 Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel:
“Because you despise this word,
And trust in oppression and perversity,
And rely on them,
13 Therefore this iniquity shall be to you
Like a breach ready to fall,
A bulge in a high wall,
Whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant. (Isaiah 30:8-13)
The above is applicable to much of the USA.
More and more are despising the word of God and trusting in perversity.
The USA needs national repentance–without it is is doomed–and it will end fairly soon (cf. Daniel 11:39).
Many will say that the US has been promoting sin and increasing debt for decades, without problems, thus since it has the strongest military, etc., nothing will change.
Consider the following scriptures:
11 Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. 12 Though a sinner does evil a hundred times, and his days are prolonged, yet I surely know that it will be well with those who fear God, who fear before Him. 13 But it will not be well with the wicked; nor will he prolong his days, which are as a shadow, because he does not fear before God. (Ecclesiastes 8:11-13)
Yes, we are seeing increases in evil. The LGBTQ+ movement, which trusts in perversity, comes directly to mind.
Jesus said:
8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows. …
28 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 29 So you also, when you see these things happening, know that it is near — at the doors! 30 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. (Mark 13:8, 28-30)
We are in a time of troubles and sorrows as Jesus prophesied.
It is the final generation of this age that experiences the beginning of sorrows and the ride of the four horsemen (and the opening of the first four seals).
National repentance is what the USA needs.
But since that is not likely, nor what the protesters or the Trump Administration are calling for, it will fall.
The USA does not need protests or troops in the street. The USA needs the return of Jesus and the Kingdom of God.
